Queen Fabiola’s wedding dress was one of the most talked about of the early 1960s. Featuring a fitted bodice with full length sleeves and a bell-shaped ankle-length skirt of white satin. The rounded neck is trimmed in white ermine as is the fitted, dropped waist, a controversial decision, and a long train flows from the shoulders of the dress. Fabiola ended up donating the dress to the Cristobal Balenciaga Foundation which celebrates the life and artistry of the great designer, who died in 1972.
This doll is one-of-a-kind and comes fully dressed in a recreation of Balenciaga's wedding dress for Queen Fabiola by Tania Lawrence. Navidad has short flocking under her exquisitely intricate wig handmade by CHEWIN. Navidad also wears long white gloves, jewels, shimmering hose, laced up shoes and has a 60's style veil and has a bouqet.

Fabiola's face is hand-painted then sprayed with a matte finish. Her body is hand buffed, then a wash of bronzer is added to some areas. She is then highlighted in fine glittery gold dust and is sealed with a gloss finish for extra glow. Her custom box is reminiscent of perfume packaging of the 1950s. The back of her box includes her bio. Series 1 is limited to 300 dolls and her number in that series is listed at the bottom of the box. A simple acrylic stand is also included.
Fabiola is approximately 11.5" tall. She is a pin-uppity glamour doll for the adult collector and is not a toy. She is one of a kind and should be treated as a work of art.
