Flirty bedroom loungers and slinky lingerie were big business for Cedrick's in the 1950s and 1960s. Many straddled the line between being able to be worn on breakfast and TV dates while some were strictly for the bedroom. We'd say this look is strictly for bedroom eyes.
This doll is one-of-a-kind and comes fully dressed in a striking peignoir made of a double layer of tulle in black and light pink with a black tulle boa. The stiffer fabric enables it to keep its dramatic shape. Fabiola wears mesh bow-tied panties, thigh-high stockings and black platform heels with black satiny ribbons made custom for Fabiola's foot. Other accessories include light pink rhinestone stud earrings, a large bow for her hair, and a black clutch with embroidered "Paris" in gold. She also wears a thin black ribbon around her neck. Fabiola's face is hand-painted then sprayed with a matte finish. This Fabiola has gloss lips. Her body is hand buffed, then a wash of bronzer is added to some areas. She is then highlighted in fine glittery gold dust and is sealed with a gloss finish for extra glow. Her custom box is reminiscent of perfume packaging of the 1950s. The back of her box includes her bio. Series 1 is limited to 300 dolls and her number in that series is listed at the bottom of the box. A simple acrylic stand is also included.
Fabiola is approximately 11.5" tall. She is a pin-uppity glamour doll for the adult collector and is not a toy. She is one of a kind and should be treated as a work of art.
