This silhouette became Fabiola’s signature and kicked off the whole kick-about craze. This was a style introduced a little later on when hot pants became the rage. You couldn't get shorts much shorter than this. These playsuits were in such high demand that Cedrick’s started designing evening wear versions that hailed tag lines like: “Kick-abouts aren’t just for kicking-about anymore!”.
This doll is one-of-a kind and comes fully dressed in a gold daytime kick-about playsuit in the hot pants version. She comes with pink sweetheart glasses with pink iridescent lenses, pink gloves, pink belt with rhinestone buckle, three strand apple green rhinestone bracelet, large green hoop earring and a chartreuse leather clutch with embroidered lip closure. Fabiola's face is hand-painted then sprayed with a matte finish. This Fabiola has matte lips. Her body is hand buffed, then a wash of bronzer is added to some areas. She is then highlighted in fine glittery gold dust and is sealed with a gloss finish for extra glow. Her custom box is reminiscent of perfume packaging of the 1950s. The back of her box includes her bio. Series 1 is limited to 300 dolls and her number in that series is listed at the bottom of the box. A simple acrylic stand is also included.
Fabiola is approximately 11.5" tall. She is a pin-uppity glamour doll for the adult collector and is not a toy. She is one of a kind and should be treated as a work of art.
